Dear The Hon Sussan Ley MP

I am writing this blog to express my thanks to The Hon Sussan Ley MP, for the opportunities you have created for people like me.

You have demonstrated a commitment to Vocational Education and Training (VET) which I’m sure will have a positive impact on the lives of many people.

I think it is great that a review is being conducted into Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) because it may provide an opportunity to bring policies that haven’t been reviewed in awhile, a chance to become more current.

I am an advocate for School Based Apprenticeships as they provide real work with proven outcomes for apprentices and employers in improving business productivity, achieving senior schooling requirements, building work based skills and recognition via a VET qualification.

I believe more of a focus on interesting and meaningful work, rather than work experience could be a beneficial part of the future format of VETiS programs.

If the opportunity arises, I would be happy to share my thoughts and experience with you and your colleges.
